The best way to beat procrastination...

It was a struggle for me to go through.
I hated how things were.
Felt like an endless loop.
It took me a while to figure out that am in a loop.
Started to notice how procrastination has impacted my life in a negative way and tried finding ways to escape it.
It was hard…
But it was worth the effort.
I later noticed my phone and social media were holding me back.
Took serious action.
Deleted almost every social media I had.
Limited my phone usage…
And started working on what I wanted:
Improving my overall health.

1)Trigger:
One of the easiest tricks to implement.
A trigger reminds you to take action on something.
This works by removing a trigger that causes us to act toward unwanted behaviour.
This could be:
Watching TV.
Social media.
Having your phone nearby.
By removing unwanted temptations, you won’t have these triggers.
Ways you could start is by:
Deleting social media.
Removing things that distract you.
Placing your phone in a separate room.
Since it’s the easiest one to implement…
It’s also easy to break and slip back into your old habits.

Step 2 will do the trick.
2)Routine:
When starting your journey, there are obstacles right in front of you.
You come to find that there are too many of them…
You get overwhelmed and decide to quit.
You easily fall back into your old habits since they contain no obstacles.
That’s where many fail.
The idea here is to add obstacles towards something you don’t want to do…
And removing obstacles towards something you want to do.
One example is deleting social media…
If you want to use it again, you download it.
Downloading it is considered an obstacle.
Another example is going to the gym…
It’s easier to start your workout at home than an actual gym.
Since a home gym contains less obstacles to go through.
If you’re still not able to stop yourself from procrastination…

3)Consequences:
This is proven to be the most powerful trick.
It works by punishing yourself for acting upon unwanted behaviour.
Create a punishment that YOU don’t want to go through.
The punishment could be:
Giving 20$ to charity.
Doing 100 push’s ups.
Not going out for the day.
These punishments will make YOU want to work on what you want to do.
Let someone help you apply those punishments so you can’t bypass them.
You’ll immediately notice the difference when you apply this trick to your lifestyle.
